We're supporting a growing electrical apparatus manufacturer with a Quality Control Tech opportunity. This position will be performing full cycle inspections from raw materials, to in-process assembly, post manufacturing, and pre-shipping. Ideal candidate will have experience in control panel wiring inspection, mechanical / dimensional inspection of panel components,  switchgear inspection, electrical testing inspection (arc flash, hi pot, etc.), able to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams, etc. 

 

Position Summary

The QC Technician is responsible for ensuring all electrical infrastructure and power distribution equipment is built in accordance with drawings, specifications, and company standards through structured inspection processes.

This role ensures builds are accurate, complete, and meet quality expectations prior to shipment and requires strong attention to detail and discipline.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Incoming Inspection

  • Inspect materials against BOM and specifications
  • Verify condition, quantity, and compliance
  • Identify and document discrepancies
  • Coordinate resolution before use

 

2. In-Process Quality Control

  • Inspect:
    • Mechanical assembly
    • Electrical wiring
    • Labeling
  • Verify build matches drawings
  • Identify issues early to prevent rework
  • Communicate issues to production and engineering

 

3. Final Quality Inspection

  • Inspect complete system including:
    • Workmanship
    • Cleanliness
    • Completeness
    • Verify alignment between:
    • Drawings
    • BOM
    • Physical build
  • Ensure readiness for shipment
 

4. Documentation & Records

  • Maintain inspection records
  • Document deficiencies and corrective actions
  • Support ECN and redline tracking
  • Ensure traceability

 

5. Quality Enforcement

  • Stop work on non-conforming items
  • Ensure corrective actions completed
  • Support root cause identification

 

6. Communication

  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and PM
  • Provide updates on quality issues

 

7. General Responsibilities

  • Follow quality standards and procedures
  • Support continuous improvement
  • Maintain organization and detail

 

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years in QC or inspection
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred

  • Experience in switchgear or electrical systems
  • Familiarity with wiring standards and BOMs
