Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in Medium Voltage and Low Voltage Switchgear to lead the expansion of our North American sales and distribution network.

This is a unique opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing suppliers of mission-critical electrical infrastructure and play a key role in developing direct distribution channels while establishing territory-specific manufacturer representatives across North America.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and grow electrical distributor relationships throughout North America.

Recruit, train, and support territory-specific sales representatives.

Expand our presence with OEMs and EPC firms.

Represent company at major industry trade shows and customer events.

Drive strategic growth for our complete Medium Voltage and Low Voltage electrical protection product portfolio.

What we are looking for:

Experience and education

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in low & medium voltage switchgears and associated electrical equipment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2-4 year degree preferred
  • Experience selling to industrial, utility, data center, oilfield, and power generation sectors
  • Background selling technical electrical products and services 
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and territory development
  • History of developing new, and maintaining, client relationships and account management
  • Experience collaborating with engineering and technical teams
  • Background responding to RFPs and RFIs for technical products
  • Experience with technical product demonstrations
  • Experience using customer relationship management systems in a results driven environment

Required skills

  • Proven success as a Sales Representative with strong electrical background
  • Proven track record selling complex enterprise solutions
  • Ability to identify and build strong relationships with senior decision makers
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical distribution systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills with creativity and confidence
  • Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems and sales tools
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Territory management and strategic planning abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills for customer technical challenges
  • Strong time management, organization, and self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently and travel up to 60%
